Here's a video of it in action... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNZctR7lE0M If you like my LED designs, join this group I made for my LED lights and things. You'll get updated as I upload new ones. I plan on making many more logos just like this one. Share your suggestions and I'll make them. This is an extruded LED Maker Faire Robot that I printed on my dual extruder machine. I took a JPEG of the Make logo, traced it in Solidworks, and then extruded and filleted the robot to create its own STL file for dual extrusion. Next, I designed a plate around the robot with holes for screws and saved that as its own STL file. Lastly, I created a shell to go around the plate and robot, with aligned screw holes so it can be fastened to the plate. I then printed the shell in regular black PLA on my Rep 2 machine. For the dual extrusion, I used the same black PLA for the plate and Bendlay (link below) for the robot. I chose Bendlay because of its high translucency, allowing 91% of light to pass through. I hooked up an RGB LED strip around the inner shell and connected it to an IR receiver so it can be controlled with a remote.
