Maker Coin
thingiverse
This is a test maker coin designed specifically to push 3D printing technology to its limits. It measures 6cm in diameter and stands at an impressive 1.25cm tall. The inner circle is engineered to rotate smoothly along its horizontal axis, just like a genuine coin. Furthermore, the outermost ring is designed to rotate freely around the inner ring, as depicted in the cross-sectional view. To ensure successful printing, your printer's settings must be meticulously fine-tuned. As evident from the attached photo, my printer struggled with the bottom half of the coin, resulting in subpar prints due to inadequate support material. However, the spinning coin feature functioned flawlessly, and although the outer rings fused together during printing, the design still proved remarkably effective.
