This is a custom-designed maker coin created to test the limits of 3D printer settings. The unique gear-shaped design features intricate circular patterns engraved along its outer edges, posing an intriguing challenge to replicate these precise details on a spherical surface. I opted for this distinctive shape not only as a test of my skills but also because it presents a visually striking appearance that exudes style and sophistication. In the center of the coin, the initials JR are prominently displayed, underscored by a horizontal line to draw attention to the monogram. Initially, I had envisioned arrows pointing directly to the letters, however, after discussing the concept with my advisor, we decided on a more subtle yet effective approach using a line underneath. During the SolidWorks design phase, the letters proved to be unorganized and interconnected, hindering their proper placement in the center of the coin. To overcome this issue, I dissolved the sketch text, allowing me to precisely position them where they belong. This process was remarkably efficient, with the project being completed within a few days as anticipated. This maker coin boasts a diameter of 6 inches and a total thickness of 1.25 cm, making it an impressive piece that showcases my technical capabilities. I specified a light blue color scheme for this project, and I'm pleased to report that the results exceeded my expectations, with the print quality turning out exceptional.
