Maker Box Stackable Sample Filament Spool

Maker Box Stackable Sample Filament Spool

I'm totally obsessed with the Maker Box I get every other month, but let me tell you, I'm really disappointed that the samples aren't pre-spooled and ready to print - I get it though. If you haven't checked them out yet, here's a link: https://www.makerbox.me/ I decided to create spools that are wide enough so I won't have to fight with the samples to get them spooled up for use. Since I get four filaments every month and nine every other month, I wanted to make sure I had all the PLA's in different colors out and ready to swap. This way, I can do multi-color prints with a lot less hassle. One of the best things about these spools is that they're stackable - you can have them individual or snap multiple ones together. Imagine having nine filament samples on one super spool - it's genius! I added some holes for keeping the filament taut at all times, so I don't need a clip. Hope you like what I've made! For all the Maker Box people out there looking to do multi-color prints, just think about three PLA colors attached to each other and ready to swap mid-print - it's so much easier to try all the samples. I did a random test cube with a bunch of filaments together using my sample spools and normal spool holder. You can check that out along with more images of my prints at www.instagram.com/bthre3d.
