Make Magazine Holder

Make Magazine Holder

thingiverse

This text is about a project to create custom magazine holders for Make Magazine issues. The author mentions that they were inspired by the look of Make on their bookshelf, and wanted something similar to their other magazine holders. The uniqueness of Make's form factor required a personalized solution. They provide images of Make Magazine covers from their website and describe the files which are designed to fit four issues per year. The author created these designs using Corel Draw X4 software, and then cut them on an Epilog Helix 45w laser at TechShop RDU. The material used was 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood, sanded until it reached a smoothness of 400 grit. To protect the wood, General Finishes Seal-a-Cell was applied as a finishing touch. Additionally, they included raster and vector settings in the files provided, along with DWG and SVG formats for cutting purposes. However, the author has not personally tested these file types for cutting and cannot guarantee their effectiveness.
