Make Fixed-base Router into Removable Base

pinshape

Summary This device transforms your Craftsman fixed-base router into a versatile removable base for various applications. Read the instructions carefully before printing, especially if you're planning to create Matthias Wandel's tilting router lift as I did. Instructions Tested with Craftsman model 315.269211, but be aware of potential risks and considerations. Caveats: 1) High-voltage electrical components are involved; only proceed if you fully understand the associated risks. 2) The LED module is now disconnected, so you'll no longer have light at the base - a minor issue for most users. Installation: 1) Remove all electronics by unscrewing the handle. 2) Install the electronics in the printed enclosure and secure it tightly with glue. 3) Re-assemble the handle. 4) Slide the enclosure into the slot left behind by the switch. Use: 1) Simply slide off the printed part to remove the base of the router. 2) Depress the lock pin with a screwdriver when un-screwing the height adjustment.
