Makarov Magazine Base Locking Plate

I helped a buddy design a new part for his Makarov pistol magazine. This piece sits directly on the spring and has a tiny lip that holds onto the cover you slide on. I discovered that replicating the exact design didn't work (this piece wouldn't budge after sliding the cover all the way on). So, I just made this replacement part longer. To install it easily, insert the follower first, then the spring in the correct position. Now, compress the spring and slide the cover plate most of the way on. Finally, simply slide this new plate between the spring and the cover, with the lip facing the right direction, and slide the cover back all the way – it should lock up snugly!
