I designed and manufactured this custom press to facilitate the removal of the stock 9x18 barrel from a Bulgarian Makarov, making it possible to install a threaded 380acp replacement as described in the following exceptional tutorials: https://www.makarov.com/barrlrep.html and https://youtu.be/MvhgNk9d2Oc?t=985. The press head and body are crafted for use with two standard 1/4" nuts and bolts to provide the necessary force, while a single 10-24 cross bolt secures the body firmly onto the pistol frame. 100% infill PLA proved more than sufficient for this project, which turned out to be surprisingly effortless. Once the original barrel was successfully removed from the frame, one of the 1/4" bolts and nuts was used in conjunction with a piece of 1/2" EMT conduit to install the replacement barrel.
