Majoras Mask HD model with Woodgrain
thingiverse
This is a scaled-down version of Majora's Mask created by ferreusveritas, with increased wall thickness and a section added at the back for conversion into a keychain, lapel pin or hanging ornament. I also designed a base to match the mask. The bulk of my time went into detailing the woodgrain texture and applying a coat once the print was finalized. I've successfully generated a version of the model featuring high-resolution woodgrain details, currently available for purchase at shapeways.com under product code 5GKBXY3Y4 (http://www.shapeways.com/product/5GKBXY3Y4/majora-s-mask-hd-model-with-woodgrain-detail). The design is now accessible for download. Instructions: Print the file with the support material facing upwards. I utilized simplify3D and uploaded a .factory file to my profile for optimal use on a flashforge creator. The settings include 0.1mm layer height, 30% rectilinear infill density, three solid bottom layers, five solid top layers, and three perimeters. I achieved the desired depth in the woodgrain detailing by specifying a support density of 50%. The thick upper layers allow for deep carving without exposing internal fillings.
