Maitre modèle pour masque thermoformé - Prototypage en cours
thingiverse
WORK AND PROTOTYPING IN PROGRESS Master model for thermoforming PVC or PET masks. The advantage of this solution would be a much shorter realization time than 3D printed solutions. It can be completed with laser-cut parts, making its production preferably in a fab lab. - Print the master model in 3D, preferably in ABS to improve heat resistance. - Thermoform a PVC or PET sheet on the master model (test with 0.8mm food-grade PVC scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2020). - Drill multiple small holes on both flat surfaces to allow breathing. - Drill two lateral attachment holes to attach elastic bands around the head. - Cut out the mask contour. - Use a CO2 laser cutter to cut two PMMA plates, 3mm thick, according to the plan "plaque.dxf". - Cut two filters according to the plan "patron_decoupe_filtre.dxf". According to current information circulating, a complex 3-layer cotton/linge anti-pollution/polyester could offer some protection. Tests are also underway on non-woven multiple layers (hivernage veil). Insert filters into their housing on the thermoformed mask and then clip PMMA plates to immobilize them. DISCLAIMER This is not a medical product and offers only minimal protection against the virus. Social distancing and hygiene guidelines must be followed. Prototype model should be completed on Monday, March 23. Further information will follow.
