Mains Cable Bracket
thingiverse
All my electronic test and assembly equipment comes with a mains cable, and some are removable while others aren't. They all have one thing in common: when it's time to put them away, you have to wrap the mains cable around the equipment or fold it up with a velcro tie or another type of wrap. This clip was designed to solve that problem: Design constraint: * The design must be sturdy enough for equipment fixtures. * It needs to be mountable using either screws, magnetic strips, or some combination of both. * The clip should be free-floating so removable power cords can be removed for storage. * A central retaining clip is needed for a semi-permanent tie that keeps the cable from coming loose. * It must support a 6-foot power cord. The first revision was just a basic clip to prove that the concept is on the right track. The second revision has all the features required by the design constraint. The unit has a mounting clip for a semi-permanent tie, recesses for velcro/magnetic strips and screws to mount it to electrical equipment. I used PLA for the prototypes, and the 100% inlay has proven strong enough for general use. If you make these, please let me know how they work out, what changes or modifications you made, or what you'd like to see.
