I've designed a mailbox for my house and I think it could work perfectly in yours as well. To secure the door, use M5 x 50mm screws. The glass pane should be cut to fit the window at 167 x 169 x 3 mm. No need to worry about opening the mail slot to check if there are any letters or packages inside.
