Mailbox Anemometer Spinner

Mailbox Anemometer Spinner

I've created a unique device to deter birds from my mailbox, an automated spinner that adds movement and visual interest. The birds become suspicious of anything that moves on its own, and therefore avoid perching on the mailbox altogether. This means no more bird droppings on our mailbox. The top of the mailbox can get quite hot during clear summer days. Initially, I printed the device in PLA, but I was concerned about its durability in high temperatures. I created a new version in green PETG to ensure it wouldn't sag or droop. To my surprise, the PLA model has held up remarkably well. The base of the spinner cups is cut off to allow for a lower mounting position on the mailbox. This design choice provides a more stable and secure fit.
