Boulter's Lock and Weir Situated on the Eastern Side of Maidenhead, England, is a lock and weir on the River Thames in Berkshire. In 1772, The Thames Navigation Commission Constructed the First Lock at this Site. Located between the A4094 Main Road from Maidenhead to Cookham and Ray Mill Island, the lock marks the western edge of the river. The surrounding area is also referred to as Boulter's Lock. Located Upstream of the Lock on the Northern End of Ray Mill Island, the Weir is a Popular Whitewater Freestyle Kayaking Spot on the River Thames. Modified to Allow Kayakers to Use it Without Interfering with Other River Users, the weir has become one of the most sought-after destinations for kayaking enthusiasts.
