MagSDHolder

MagSDHolder

I needed a reliable SD card holder for my 3D printer but couldn't find one that suited me. I wanted at least four slots and easy removal when relocating the printer. Several designs clipped over the door opening, however, interfering with the door. I decided to start from scratch. The holder utilizes a strong rare earth magnet, allowing it to stick securely to the metal housing of the printer wherever I desire, but this design won't be suitable for printers with plastic, wood, or aluminum frames. I utilized some extra magnets from my GoPro Mag Mount design on Thingiverse, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1949608. The link below leads to the source of the magnets I used, but any 15mm x 5mm magnet will suffice. I chose these due to their availability and the rare earth type's exceptional holding power. A small amount of silicone was applied to hold the magnet in place within its hole. The slots are designed with a key (the 45-degree angle is on the left), ensuring the cards always face downwards and towards the user.
