MagSafe 2 Strain Relief/Cable Fix

My wife's laptop power adapter cable started fraying, so I decided not to replace it yet since its internal wiring is still in perfect condition - only the rubber outer layer was torn. The object is made of two separate halves that need to be glued together around the cable end. I used hot glue for this repair and you can see that it didn't allow the two halves to fit together as snugly as they should have. Super glue might have been a better choice.
