Magpie Mine, located in Derbyshire, UK, is the last operational lead mine in the Peak District and arguably the most well-preserved example of a 19th-century lead mine in the country. The Square Chimney stands as one of the oldest structures on site, originally built in 1840 to support a steam-powered winding engine. Since 1962, the extensive surface remains have been meticulously managed by the Peak District Mines Historical Society.
