This magnetically attached bracket measures precisely for Solidoodle 3D Printers' bed leveling. The dial indicator holder part is separate, allowing customization. 8mm rare earth magnets from Harbor Freight are used; $2.99 buys a pack of 10. A Fowler X-Tread Tire Tread Thickness Gage (reads mm or inches) is required and costs $15.75 on Global Industrial. Assembly involves pressing magnets into the bracket, gluing parts together with acetone, and attaching the indicator gage. To use, lower Z stage for clearance, center extruder, attach assembly to motor bolt heads, and slide it gently down until it contacts sides of bolt heads. Proceed with bed leveling measurements; lower Z stage by 10mm before moving extruder in X or Y direction.
