Magnetic Work Flow System

Magnetic Work Flow System

I got into 3D printing so that I could design molds and other tools for my soap making business. One of the things I was really excited to do when I moved into a new place with a dedicated soaping space was to make my own visual workflow wall to help me keep track of orders. These tiles are made with a fingertip groove all the way around so that they're easy to pull out from a row or column. There are 2 8mm by 1mm indents on the back of the full and 3/4 tiles for 8mm by 1mm magnets. They 1/2 tile has a space for one magnet. Magnets are available from many places, I usually get mine from Amazon. Pick your favorite glue or adhesive to stick your magnets to your PLA. These tiles are designed to help you organize your various factors by color. In my case, I use a purple full tile for the scent, then a blue 3/4 tile for color and a green 3/4 tile for the mold shape. If needed I have orange 1/2 tiles to indicate how many I need to make. This is super helpful when I need to see how many batches of soap I need to make and where I can combine to make one big batch instead of two or more small batches. These would be great to help you organize your workshop's orders, your chores, your workouts, inventories, recipes and ingredients and more! For special education teachers who teach students with autism, these easy to grasp tiles would be great for first/then boards, visual schedules or choice boards. For teachers who have low vision students these can be made with Braille text. For preschool students or students with other special needs, they can be used for sentence making/copying, individual daily schedules, proofreading practice or, if you make individual letter tiles, for spelling practice. In your download you'll get the full, 3/4 and 1/2 tile blanks. As a bonus, I've included a basic set of the 1/2 tile multiplier tiles I made, because it strikes me that they're something most people can use. You'll also get the metal sheet holder I used to make my wall. I got the metal sheets from Lowe's. If you don't have quite so many things to organize, you can always use your fridge. I used 4 sheet holders for each sheet. To use: Toss the .stl into your favorite design software (I use Tinkercad.com - it's free and web-based and easy to use.) and add your text. When you print, change colors at 10mm if you use the default size. If you don't want to add text through design software, you can print them as is and write on them with a permanent marker or if you have a Cricut or similar machine, you can label them with vinyl.
