Inspired by the “4-Way Measuring Ruler” by Youtuber B-Star Crafts, this is a simple magnetic snap-on that can be used to easily measure and mark.When the ruler is inserted in the vertical position, it works like a traditional marking gauge. The flat side lies flat against your work piece and you use the end of the ruler to mark things.When using the horizontal position, the 90° corners can be aligned with inner or outer box corners to easily measure exact positions from the corner. Use the corner of the ruler to mark your position.The horizontal position can also be used as a center finder for round stock.The STL included here is for a 30mm steel ruler and a 3x25mm magnet - Fusion360 and step files are included and all important measurements can be adjusted through parameters. I used superglue to attach the magnet.I found the hold good enough to not need any additional clamping mechanism or even a lid. However you could easily create a lid in Slicer by simply printing the bottom few millimeters. Or you could mirror the whole model to add a second magnet on top…
