Magnetic Window Latch for QIDI Printer

Magnetic Window Latch for QIDI Printer

thingiverse

This is a magnetic latch for the front window in a QIDI Tech 1 Printer. It's likely to work on equivalent MakerBot printers, but that hasn't been verified yet. Feel free to modify it to suit your needs on other printers; only one is required. The part mounts using two 6-32 screws & nuts at the bottom of the Window, centered with the handle as shown in the photo. You'll need to drill two 3/16” diameter holes in the Window for the screws. To keep the window in place, super-glue a 1/4” diameter x 1/16” thick Neodymium magnetic into the pocket of the Latch. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! Print Settings Printer: QIDI Tech 1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Standard (0.2 mm) Infill: 15% Notes: I didn't use a raft since I haven't had issues with my parts sticking to the print bed. In fact, mine tend to stick like they've been glued! I printed it with ABS, but PLA could work just as well; I used three shells.
