Magnetic Walking Robot "Magno-Rama" 3d printed
thingiverse
This walking robot is based on a pioneering patent from 1891. Two electric magnets embedded in its feet are skillfully controlled to enable it to walk with ease. You have complete control over the electro magnets, allowing you to make the robot move forward, backward, or even turn in any direction you desire. The optional body design is a creative reinterpretation of the iconic Bender model and can be easily replaced by any custom-made body you may envision, as it is completely detachable from the mechanical component of this innovative design. The two 20mm electric magnets used in this robot can be swapped out for larger 30mm magnets if you want to create a bigger, more impressive machine or add batteries on board. Similarly, the gear motor can be replaced with a faster unit if you prefer your robot to walk at a brisker pace. I added LED-lit eyes to give my gray-colored robot an extra touch of personality. The motor and magnets were sourced from reputable Ebay sellers, and I must say that the seller who provided the 20mm electric magnets also threw in a free 12-volt power supply, which is exactly what I used for my two 3D printed robots. There are two different foot cover designs available: 3B features a round cover, while foot cover 4 boasts a more oval shape. To further aid your understanding of this project, a PDF file containing the original 1891 patent has been included. If you want to see how the robot is assembled, I recommend checking out the informative YouTube video at https://youtu.be/kjBCA3mpsWI.
