This is a tube holder designed specifically for magnetic bead separations in molecular biology.\r\n\r\n**The design must be printed twice and the two parts screwed together back-to-back**, so that it accommodates sixteen tubes while only requiring eight magnets. It utilizes eight neodymium magnets, each measuring 2 cm x 1 cm x 0.5 cm. The pull strength is just a bit lighter than a popular commercial product whose name starts with D and ends with ynamag2, yet it's quite adequate.\r\n\r\nThe tubes should fit snugly but comfortably (+1mm gap space added to the diameter of the tube). They fit in an angled position so that the distance from the bottom half of the tube to the magnet is minimized, further increasing performance.\r\n\r\nYou will also need:\r\n - Eight neodymium magnets, 2 cm x 1 cm x 0.5 cm;\r\n - Two screws (this design was tested with 16mm length, 4.5mm head diameter metal screws for wood);\r\n - A glue gun;\r\n - (optional) liquid glue suitable for plastic;\r\n - (optional) four silicone door stoppers, 8mm diameter x 4mm+ height.
