Magnetic Tape Roll Holder
thingiverse
INFO: I need a lot of tape at work, so I designed a tape holder that snaps onto a clip with magnets. The clip itself stays on my pants, and the tape holder will snap onto metal, allowing you to attach it to your machine, car, rack, or other devices. You can use one large roll or even two small rolls side by side if needed (for example, if you need different colors). HOW TO: 1st Option: Add 7 strong magnets (10x4mm) in the clip and holder, alternating the + and - poles as shown in the picture. Glue the caps on top of the magnets. Then, place the clip into your back pocket, and the tape holder will snap onto your pants. To detach, simply push the holder downward. 2nd Option: Add 6 strong magnets (10x4mm) in the clip and holder, again alternating the + and - poles as shown in the picture. Leave a small space blank in the middle and drill a hole. Next, use a bolt and nut to attach a clip holder (you can get one from an old tape measure or something). Make sure the clip can still turn around on the bolt when the magnet clip turns around. Glue the bolt into the middle hole, and glue the caps on top of the magnets. Now you can attach the clip onto your pants, and the tape holder will snap nicely onto the clip. To detach, simply push the tape holder downward. EXTRA: The clip works very well, it's pretty strong and doesn't fall off easily. It only falls off automatically when I'm running really fast. So, I learned to hold my hand on the tape holder when I start running.
