Magnetic T-Slot Enclosure System
thingiverse
Using my previous trapped hinge, plus a few extra parts, I've built a standard kit you can use to make a hinged enclosure for anything made from t-slot extrusions. The hinges work exactly like they do in the standalone version, and the magnetic closures are sized specifically for 1/8-inch (~3mm) acrylic sheets and small neodymium magnets (precisely 1/8 inch diameter by 1/16 inch thickness). To make the magnetic closures work properly, you'll need to countersink holes in the acrylic sheet over where you've mounted the closures, then superglue additional neodymium magnets into the holes. There are two choices of knobs: a large knurled knob (50mm in diameter) and a smaller knurled knob (20mm in diameter). The fully assembled version allows your acrylic sheets to lay flat with the outer surface of the extrusion when held in place with magnets and hinge open to just over 90 degrees.
