Hey, it's mind-blowing that PLA can withstand a trip through a pressure cooker at 15 psi! Are you imagining the possibilities? Just attach a length of 1/8" (3.18 mm) music wire and secure with temperature-resistant silicone sealant or gasket maker, and you've got yourself a DIY magnetic stir bar for a homemade magnetic stir plate. I use these in my home mushroom cultivation setup. So far, I haven't noticed any hindrance to mycelium growth or spore germination.
