Magnetic Shoelace Magnet Resize
thingiverse
I designed this project after learning that the original prototype used 0.5 inch diameter by 3/16th of an inch thick neodymium disc magnets, but those proved difficult to find and ship affordably. That's when I decided to redesign the model from scratch. Initially, I wanted to create a customizer app using OpenSCAD, but I realized that mastering it would take time, so for now, I'm focusing on perfecting the design without relying on it. Fortunately, these new models work well despite their lack of strong magnets, and I'm already working on an upgraded version using better-shaped magnets. Stay tuned for the next generation and a customizable design once I become proficient in OpenSCAD. Update: I've created a model that uses 30x4x10mm bar magnets, which are surprisingly strong and effective! However, keep in mind that they may not fit snugly, so it's essential to glue them in place for optimal results.
