The human hand is no match for a sharp double edged razor blade when it's lying flat on a surface. Picking one up in a medical setting where it may be contaminated with all sorts of diseases and germs is extremely reckless, a real gamble. I set out to invent something that makes it simple to pick these things up without getting cut and then release them afterwards, something practical that might come in handy some day. This invention has a piston which features one end covered by a tiny magnet. The way the piston and cap work together is genius - when they are fully extended, the small magnet butts right up against the edge of the cylinder. Now, here's what makes it work so well: When you lift that cap all the way up, it lifts away from that tiny end-magnet at an incredible speed; this means that any objects stuck to it are immediately freed up. Later updates and new design considerations include modifications that let a user operate with one hand; I've done my best to address your requests while ensuring safety above all else. When picking up exposed razor blades, always make sure the tool itself remains sterile by inserting latex glove or plastic bag into this specific part where contamination could occur. Another update to note is a more robust ring design to give extra protection against potential breaks and added support. How To Assemble Carefully align each flat surface in three main pieces then print out - once you've got them, glue them onto their respective places together like: the rod should stick at the bottom, while piston attaches inside that cylinder section. Make sure those edges stay clean so nothing else goes into harm's way here before adding this very small neodymium magnet which fits snugly into a hole located just above one end part sticking off what could've otherwise become sharp fragments now resting against safety first with a secure 1/16".
