Magnetic Raspi Zero Case for Anycubic Predator
thingiverse
Human: Case to attach a RasPi Zero W running OctoPrint with magnets to the upper honeycomb metal sheet cover (see pics for details). Design features 3 parts: - Base (bottom) with cutouts for 3 magnets (3x8mm) - using all 3 at the moment, but 2 should be okay - Box (housing), screwed to the base - Lid with cutout for a 5V power supply cable (check pinout to get the right ones) - snap-fit What you will need: - printed parts - 3 magnets (3x8mm) - 2 M3x8 screws and nuts (very snug fit in my tests...) - 4 M2x10 screws to assemble the Pi - threads included in box - Micro-USB to USB adapter (found an old Samsung S7 one in the box...) The box features enough space for the SD card and the camera ribbon cable connector, so everything should fit properly. One remark: the Zero W is officially not recommended due to bad performance which can be fully confirmed - knowing a "normal" PI, everything takes at least 2 or 3 times as long as "already experienced" - but: it works... somehow... Power can be provided using the Predator power supply and a step-down converter (24V => 5V) this will start the Pi when the printer is powered and "killed" when switched-off Update 10-04-2020: Performance issues solved - replaced SD card by a much faster one and the systems works quite well since a couple of days... so take care to use a good quality SD card when running OctoPrint on a Zero W (even it's not recommended)
