Magnetic rack for 96-well plates
thingiverse
We regularly utilize a magnetic rack designed specifically for 96-well plates in our SMART-Seq library preparation process. Each magnet is strategically positioned at the intersection of four wells, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Occasionally, you may need to secure the magnets with a small amount of cyanoacrylate, but I found that a friction fit was sufficient for my purposes. It's essential to use high-quality 5/16" diameter magnets that are 1/2" in thickness. We prefer using D58-N52 magnets, but the D58-N42 variety listed below should also provide strong magnetic properties. For your convenience, I've included a link to a reliable supplier of these magnets: https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D58
