Magnetic quick-release spool holder
thingiverse
This is a Spool holder I designed specifically for my SparkCube XL, but it can easily fit other printers made from Slot6/Nut6 aluminum profiles that provide enough clearance for the spool. Print Settings: Printer: Sparkcube Rafts: Don't worry about rafts; they're not necessary. Supports: Yes, supports are required to prevent warping during printing. Resolution: 0.2 mm resolution is recommended for optimal results. Infill: A 25% infill density will provide a sturdy and durable spool holder. Notes: Print the frame and one spool stopper separately. You'll need two spool adapters and two center cylinder pieces to assemble the spool holder correctly. Bill of Materials: 2 x 608 Bearings 2 x M4 Nuts 9 x 6mm x 6mm cylindrical magnets 2 x Slot nuts 1 x 8mm x 105mm steel rod A few M4 screws approximately 10mm in length When printing, some parts need to be rotated 180 degrees to print flat on the bed. Post-Printing Instructions: Insert the magnets into the center cylinder's holes carefully, making sure they're aligned properly for the two pieces to attract each other. Place one magnet in the end stopper. Insert the 8mm steel rod into the main frame and secure it with nuts and screws. Finally, attach the spool holder to your printer.
