Magnetic plate for Tesla Model Y tow hook

<p>It is now possible to make it a lot easier to attach and detach the coverplate for the tow hook.</p><p>Demo video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DRJkK6VaSlo</p><p>Despite Tesla Model Y is a great car, its implementation of the detacable tow hook is quite unimaginative.</p><p>This model consists of:</p><ul><li>a adapter plate to be glued to the coverplate with room for magnets</li><li>a new plug which is slightly smaller than the original, to free metal parts of the hook</li></ul><p>There are left room for round super magnets. The max size of the allowed magnets are 3x14mm. I have tested with 2x10mm and the leave enough force to keep the plate in place.</p><p>Important: When you print the plate, please keep in mind to stop/pause the print and add the magnets when your reach at right size. For me it was on layer 14 with 0.2mm layer hight. But again.. It depends on magnet size.</p><p>Recommended config: 0,2mm layer, 15% infill, 4 walls</p><p>Yellow markings on photos:</p><ul><li>Tesla cover plate: It's recommended to remove all the locks, but not the guide. So only the inner part of the snap lock. Though they don't snap in this design, it just makes the it easier to fit the cover plate.</li><li>The adapter plate: This is where the magnets are placed.. They are right under the second printet layer (2x0,2mm)</li></ul><p>(please note the adapter plate is only fitted with duct-tape in the video due to demo purposes. It should be glued with super glue or similar)</p><p>Elon may steel, reuse, resell and earn more money if he wants. As long its for the greather good.. Everyone else: only personal non-commercial use :-)</p>
