Magnetic Peephole Cover
thingiverse
TLDR: It's a peephole cover that fits over the existing peephole and has magnets to stick it to the door, with more magnets inside to keep the sliding cover open. The fit is a bit tight. I just moved into an apartment complex with new doors and thought the electrical tape covering my old peephole looked messy. I searched online for a simple solution and found some plug-like covers, but nothing that caught my eye. That's when I turned to Google for ideas. The cover is straightforward - it fits over the metal part of the peephole and has a sliding piece that moves up and down. Both parts have holes cut out for strong magnets, which help keep everything in place on the door if it's magnetic. The magnet on the front of the base and the cover line up to hold the cover open while you're looking through the peephole.
