Magnetic octopus holder for Scuba diving

This is a magnetic breakaway adapter mainly for the octopus/backup regulator on a normal (non-DIR) setup.

I designed it to be as compact as possible while still accomodating a reasonably strong magnet.

The mechanism should connect quite easily under water, a short pull on the hose will release the octopus:

Just print the two parts and glue in a 10x2mm magnet on each part. (I used these: https://amzn.to/3uaaGkB)

I'm currently testing CA glue for salt water resistance but if you want to go for several parts and reliability, then something like this might be better: https://amzn.to/3ua8MQK

Used on a 12mm Miflex-Style Hose (Apeks) but will fit others too.

Simply thread two zip ties through the curved channles on the bottom part and attach to the hose.

If you like the design and/or find it helpful, consider buying me a coffee.
