Magnetic-Mount Motion Sensor Cover
thingiverse
This is to cover a 1-gang motion sensor (US switches)... though I forget what brand it is. I used the "Super Magnets" from Home Depot which are 8mm x 3mm and glued them into the slot with cyanoacrylate glue (after roughing them up). I printed this with the open side downward with no supports (which, shockingly, worked). This didn't produce the greatest surface finish on the parts facing inward, but that's OK; instead I got good detail on the filleted edges, which is more important. The roughness was actually helpful in the glue socket because it gave the glue a really good surface to adhere to. I'm including the Fusion 360 file which should let you modify the design as you see fit. The 9th item in the design history is where the size of the magnets are defined, so edit that to change the magnet diameter. It also is the beginning of setting the width of the cover itself. The 10th item is the extrusion of the open area of the cover, which sets how deep the hole is to cover the sensor. The 12th item sets the depth of the magnet. Note: the "Print Settings" below don't have the Prusa Mini+ (which is what this was printed on). I used the PrusaSlicer's "0.15mm QUALITY" setting.
