Hello,

I just saw the current contest two days ago and took it as a challenge to reorganize my cluttered knife drawer. I did not see any model in the contest that used magnets to hold knives in place in a drawer. I was lucky to still have some magnetic tape from another project so I took on the challenge.
The tape is just applied to the top of the strip models, I designed two different strip widths as multiples of the width of the tape itself. The wider strips should hold heavier and bigger knives more securely.
I wanted the the organizer to be modular, this was achieved by connecting different parts with a bow tie like connector. It fits very tightly but still can be removed. If you have trouble with the fit, just scale it down a couple percent in the width direction in your slicer. I modeled these parts in a way, that specific perimeters will be two extrusion widths thick. For me this is 0.6mm as I use a 0.6 nozzle primarily. In the included Fusion360 file there is a parameter you can change for that. You can also change the lenghts of the magnetic strips so the organizer can fit different drawers perfectly. You can see these parameters in the picture below. In case you dont want to use the provided Fusion360 file I provided a assortment of different lengths for the Strips.

I also wanted to make models for the most used tools I have in that drawer, namely the honing steel, the kitchen scissors and my cheap but trusty Kiwi Brand No. 21. As these parts cannot easly be adjusted in width I provided the width of the part in the model name so you can account for it when deciding on the correct lengths for the strips.

The magnetic tape I used is 20mm in width and about 2mm in height. If you happen to have or buy a different one, just adjust the parameters. Apart from this tape nothing else is needed to complete this project.
I used some double sided tape to keep the organizer from sliding around in the drawer.

I printed this project with a layer height of 0.35mm a PLA from “Das Filament”, I like the look of the thick layer lines a lot.
It was printed with 2 external perimeters and 3 top and bottom layers.
The prints dont need any supports and should be oriented correctly from the getgo.
For infill I chose 15% rectilinear.

I hope I explained everything, if there are any questions feel free to ask.
Have fun printing and organizing ;)
