Magnetic Mirror Mounts
thingiverse
The goal was to design mirror mounts for John Deere 1025R and 3038e tractors that wouldn't need any modifications to the tractor itself. Three 1" pot magnets, each with a 60 lb. straight pull strength, were used on each mount to attach them to the support towers of the front end loader (FEL) on the tractors. I used inexpensive mirrors made for golf cart use. My magnet source was Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YSTJ4TR My mirror source was also Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T4NRCD1 There are three versions of the mount: a flat one for the 1025R, an extended version that can be used on either side of the 305 FEL tower (on the 3038e) or the back face of the 1025R FEL towers. The 305FEL version was designed to fit the curved backside of the 305 tower. Note that the current 3038e comes with a 300E FEL instead of the 305 FEL on my older 3038e, and I'm not sure if it will fit the 300E FEL. I used semi-flexible TPU (Shore 95A) for its toughness. To provide grip for the attachment screws, I used a Cura function to establish areas of 99% infill at all screw locations & also on the center line of the extended version to ensure rigidity. These areas aren't part of the .STL file and need to be manually established in the slicer session using a combination of support blocker & overlap settings. I haven't seen any significant vibration of the mounted mirrors with the engine running.
