Magnetic Locking Box

Magnetic Lock Box Uses Magnets for Hinge and Keyed Lock. Two Versions Exist, One Locking Requires Ferromagnetic Filament, the Other Works with Regular Filaments. I've Been Wondering If This Would Work for Years, but Don't Actually Need It. Hinge - The Hinge Uses 4mm Cylinder Magnets as Its Center. By Reversing Magnet Direction (North to North, South to South), a Spring Formed That Acts As the Hinge's Axis. You Can See 4mm x 10mm Cylinder Magnets Inside the Hinge in One of the Pictures Above. Shorter Magnets Will Work Too, but More Are Needed. Lock - The Lock Uses 3-4x4mm Cylinder Magnets. They're Normally Recessed in the Lid But Get Pulled to the Edge When the Box is Closed and the Key's in Place, Locking It In. Holding the Key Open Against the Box Pushes the Magnets into the Lid, Opening it Slightly. Use Different Polarity Combinations to Customize. Key - The Key Uses 6-4x4mm Cylinder Magnets (Each Slot Takes Two). Insert the Magnets Matching the Lock's Polarity and May Need Glue for Secure Placement. Customizing - This Design is Available in Onshape, So You Can Change Box Size or Magnet Type There.
