I took measurements and designed a new magnetic latch for our bathroom cabinet after the original one broke quickly. The design was based on what I thought would work best, taking into account the materials and functionality needed. A divider between the two magnets had been included in the original piece, but upon assembly, it seemed unnecessary - except that it could have kept the magnets from angling inward as they attracted each other. Despite this, I'm still pleased with how it turned out.
