Ok this was my first design with a manufactured product embedded inside a printed part. I had just received a new laptop for work, which was half the weight of my previous model but not a tablet PC, which would have been great. Thankfully, the new one had a touch screen, so I designed this bracket to hold it in place and attach it to anything metal, like fire panel doors. The magnet and strap came from eBay (just type in 'Magnet strap for FLUKE'), where you'll need two of them - only one strap is needed. To prevent scratching my laptop, I used 3M Mastic tape on the back of the magnets and anywhere they would touch the PLA. I designed this bracket using Prusaslicer and made a color change at a set height before placing the rubber magnets in their position and resuming printing - it worked perfectly the first time. To get the best strength, I recommend printing the top and bottom parts on their side with four wall layers. To test its weight capacity, I applied different amounts of force: one magnet held 1.6kg, two magnets held 3kg, and two magnets with 3M tape on them could hold an impressive 5kg. I also noticed that the rubber coating on the magnets was more like plastic and tended to slip - but applying the 3M tape made all the difference. This bracket is designed for Dell Latitude 7490 laptops, which are similar in size. My intention was simply to provide a guide so others could create one that fits their own laptop perfectly.
