Magnetic Interlocking Storage Tube Ever had to carry something long, thin and fragile on-the-go? We did - so we created this Magnetic Interlocking Storage Tube. You can store objects measuring up to 4.5" (12cm) in height and 0.8" (2cm) in diameter inside the inner chamber. The top slide is firmly locked in place by a simple magnetic mechanism once closed. The Slide (0.5 hour print time) Printed standing upright at 0.25mm resolution with no infill. One perimeter shell is slightly flexible for a successful assembly. The Chamber (2 hour print time) Printed on its flat side at 0.1mm resolution with 30% infill and three perimeters. Surface and curvature must be smooth. Post-Printing Assembly Step 1: Glue one magnet into the Slide's designated hole. Polarity doesn't matter, but some filing may be necessary for a perfect fit. Step 2: File the small hole in the Chamber to fit the second magnet perfectly. Don't glue it yet! Step 3: Clip the Slide onto the Chamber. This can be tricky, so slide the arm of the Slide first. Check that it moves smoothly and the arm touches the wall in both positions. Step 4: Glue the second magnet into the Chamber's hole. Make sure the magnets are aligned to attract each other, but don't glue them together. Superglue can be messy!
