Four magnets are utilized, two on each side. They come in either 20mm x 10mm x 4mm or 20mm x 10mm x 5mm neodymium N50 magnets purchased from eBay by searching for "20 x 10 x 4mm neodymium magnets." I received different thicknesses in separate orders, which is why two sets of 3D printer files are available - one for the 4mm magnets and another for the 5mm magnets.
