Magnetic Haptic Fidget Spinner
prusaprinters
I have tried many fidget toys (made by myself or downloaded) and this is easily the best one yet. This model is my own creation, but it's heavily inspired by a model made by @tzachmost_296167 (Spinfinity), be sure to check his model out! I decided to make my own version since it's a very simple design, and I did not like the tolerances @tzachmost_296167 used (especially for the magnets) and the strength of the click (it was too weak for my liking) so I added more magnets. Of course, you can lower the strength of the magnets by filling one half of the fidget full of magnets and the second half with your selected number of magnets.PRINT SETTINGS:Print with the grip pattern down (bearing holes up).You MUST use 0,2 mm layer height since the entire design has vertical dimensions divisible by 0,2 mm. DON'T use supports.Pause the print at LAYER 23 to insert the magnets. Make sure you get the polarity right!! (it's not rocket science, think).Infill is up to you. I personally used 70% since it makes the fidget toy nice and heavy, but you can use whatever you like.OPTIONAL: You can use ironing on the last layer. It will flatten the last layer and prevent the halves from touching (they shouldn't touch, since there is a 0,4 mm gap, but if your printer isn't particularly well calibrated ironing could help).OPTIONAL: You can also stop the print at LAYER 3 to change the color of the grip pattern like @tzachmost_296167 did. I personally don't like the look, but you might! HARDWARE NEEDED:1x - 608 Bearing (doesn't matter if it's covered or not)11x to 20x - 4x2 MagnetsTOLERANCES:4,5x2,2 mm for the magnet holes (⌀4,5mm should be large enough for any printer. If there is too much slop for your printer put some superglue into the hole, otherwise they'll rattle)7,9 mm for the inner bearing diameter [part no.1] (This creates a nice tight fit. Pretty easy to put together, and quite difficult to take apart, but still possible).22 mm for the outer bearing diameter [part no.2] (This also creates a pretty tight fit, pretty much impossible to take the bearing out without destroying the print)..STEP FILES:I also included .step files if you want to remix this design or play with tolerances.
