Magnetic Hall Sensor LED Strip Switch -- Light up your drawers!
thingiverse
Light up your drawers! I needed LED strips to automatically turn on when my kitchen drawers opened and off when they closed. So, I designed a circuit using a Hall Effect magnetic sensor and a MOSFET transistor to control the LED strip. The enclosure was created to be compact and easy to install in the drawer frame. After soldering the components together, assembly follows, being careful not to melt PLA with hot solder. I plan to document my build process in an Instructable once I have some time available. To trigger the circuit, a switch is attached to the drawer frame and a small rare earth magnet is glued to the inside of the drawer front. You can use peel and stick backing to hold up the LEDs, but I chose to use "LED Strip Mounting Brackets" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3615992) for a clean-looking installation.
