Magnetic Gear Toy

Magnetic Gear Toy

I created a learning gear toy for my niece and nephew. Each gear has its number of teeth printed on it, along with a marker for one tooth, making it easy to teach division ratios and basic counting. After printing the orange gears, I realized that a handle was necessary to grab and spin them by hand. This was edited into the stl file. The chamfers at the bottom are designed with multiple purposes in mind. Firstly, they allow little fingers to easily pull gears off the fridge, making it simple for children to assemble the toy. Secondly, they provide a smooth round surface for the first layer of printing, resulting in a nicely finished product. Once printed, I cleaned out holes with drill bits of suitable size to prepare them for assembly. The following components are required: 1 x gear 1 x https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MM-D-12 1 x 10mm M3 screw 1 x M3 washer This design was created using Onshape.
