Am preparing to teach my toddlers how to fish. They are sort of in-between the ages where a real fishing rod might be too tough for them, and the toy fishing rods tend to break. So, I decided to use a real rod, and use this hook with imbedded magnet, as well as the remix of a fish with a magnet in the end, to teach casting, or just have some fun around the house. the magnets needed are 1.27cm diameter with .5 cm depth. you can actually just use a screw head in the end of the fish if you want to instead of the magnet, but if you use a magnet and install it backwards, you can get some fish to 'swim away' when the hook is near.
