Magnetic Enclosure
thingiverse
I designed this enclosure specifically for the Robo 3D R1/R1+ printer, but its versatile design allows it to be repurposed as a fitting cover for other items too. For example, you can create an open cube by using two 2PlaneSupports on the bottom in the same configuration as the top. Printers that handle large or thin projects often experience significant warping or curling due to printing with an open bed. Initially, I addressed this issue by cutting up a cardboard box - it worked well but lacked aesthetic appeal. This is my first attempt at creating a more refined solution to maintain an even printing environment. If you decide to use this enclosure, be aware that the factory spool arm may interfere with it. You can find a top-mounted spool holder on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2758998 Feel free to ask questions or request additional instructions/diagrams if needed. The Sketchup file is included for modifications to suit different plexiglass thicknesses.
