Magnetic easy swapping filament tags for dry box
thingiverse
I use two Ikea® Samla boxes as dry boxes to store and use filament spools on top of my printer's enclosure. I put four spools in each box and the boxes are air tight closed. As time goes by I often forget what time of filament is in each box and I have to open them to check before printing. Not convenient at all.So I designed this set of tags and a tag holder. Every tag features a little rounded slot behind to host a 5x1.5mm magnet that matches the same slot on the tag holder. When I load a filament spool, I juste swap the tag in front of it to identify the material. You need 5x1.5mm magnets and a bit of glue to make this. I used different colors of filament but you could use only one of course.Warning: every tag holder must have their magnets glued with the same polarity orientation! Same for the tags. Check that tags and holders will attract each other. Otherwise some holders will repel the tags instead of attaching it.I fix the magnet with cyanolite glue. And the tag holders are attached to the dry boxes with hot glue or double sided tape.
