Magnetic Dish

Magnetic Dish

I finally got fed up with constantly dropping tiny grub screws on the floor. So, I came up with a clever solution - a dish with a whiteboard magnet underneath. Now, you can rest the foil or epee point in the hole while the blade runs down the slot. This allows you to stabilize the guard with one foot and hold an epee point pressed against it with one hand, all while manipulating the screwdriver with the other. Even this doesn't completely eliminate the risk of losing screws, but I managed to go an entire session of fixing a dozen club weapons without misplacing any - a personal best. From now on, this setup is going straight into my fencing toolkit for club nights. This dish also comes in handy when you're frantically searching for that one missing grub screw and spring while crawling around on the floor - it keeps them securely in place until you can find the lost one.
