Magnetic Connector - 3 Terminal

Magnetic Connector - 3 Terminal

thingiverse

This connector utilizes 3mm MakerBot magnets as terminals, arranged for contact in only one orientation due to polarities. It's employed with my motorcycle setup to connect 5V, GND, and signal between an Arduino-based GPS and a serial LCD board. Designed for quick disconnect applications, it handles bike vibrations effectively. The printing and cleaning process involves using an exacto knife; for each wire, strip and flatten its 22AWG solid end, hook into connector corners, then press magnets (in desired orientation) into top slots while pressing wire between magnet and slot wall. Finally, route the wire through central strain relief slots.
